This year Al-Ma’arifa International Private School celebrates its 30th anniversary; namely, three decades have elapsed since the School was established as a modest building with very limited teaching staff and classrooms.
“Leading Al-Ma’arifa International Private School (MIS) for approximately three decades of relentless efforts with our staff, students, parents and supporters from different walks of life in our beloved Emirate of Sharjah, I can assure you as a director that our School’s improvement and development has never come to a halt. School’s Board of Directors, Board of Trustees and School’s Management have extended whatever support and development needed in compliance with the School’s vision, mission and strategic objectives that enhance the concepts and practice of high quality education, effective learning environment, and humanistic global values.”
The fact that our student population has been on the increase over time, provides a substantial evidence of MIS quality educational service at all school levels and different teaching programs.
I would confidently say that without our staff’s team work, and the support the School obtains from the parents, the community, the Board of Trustees and the Board of Directors, such accomplishments could have never been realized.
AMPIS succeeded in signing a number of memos of understanding with the American University of Sharjah, The American University in the Emirates, The Canadian University of Dubai, The Skyline University College, University of Dubai and others to be signed soon. Of paramount importance was the School’s establishment of Quality Assurance Department (QAD) that was entrusted with the task of monitoring, improving and supporting staff, curriculum and school performance in general. The QAD, in addition, continued to issue the School’s Newsletter as a tool of communication between the School and its internal and external communities. With substantial support from highly experienced and committed educationalists, the School’s QAD organized school-wide classroom visits and several training workshops for its teachers in different departments as a programmed activity aiming to enhance the professional development of the School’s teaching staff. Moreover, a number of diverse curriculum committees and sub-committees have been set up and work diligently to review, evaluate and update curricula. Efforts are under way to broaden the utilization of ICT in classrooms and school at large. Practical steps have been taken towards developing students’ assessment and testing systems.
